First Snow Run

Hey guys,

I was so right! I knew it was going to snow soon and today it did! Kyle (my husband) woke me up and told me to go look out the window. I was so excited when I saw it and took pictures immediately. Here are the pics I took.

Today was my first time running outside where there was snow! There wasn't any on the sidewalk though so it was nice. I wore capris, a 3/4 length shirt, some gloves and a beanie (known as a tuque [too-k] here in Canada) and I wasn't cold at all. I felt great!  I saw some kids making a snowman, and the park that I circle on my run was so beautiful...I wanted to get a picture but I didn't want to carry my camera on the run. When it starts to snow more I will get some pictures of Kyle and I in the snowfall and post them.

I can't believe it, you guys but I ran even faster today (by a bit). I did 3 miles in 31:41. I did mile 1 in 10:25, mile 2 in 10:40, and mile 3 in 10:35. Granted I felt like I was going to barf at the end of mile 2 through mile 3 because I had some samples from Costco  (try-outs! yee-ah!)  like 30 minutes before my run. I didn't eat much at all but I run best on an empty stomach or near empty. I used to do my runs in the early morning, get up and eat a banana then go and it was great. Maybe I should start doing that again.....

I hope you had a restful weekend and a fantastic Monday!

  1. What is your past with running? It just sounds like you were a runner before? True?

My race is THIS SATURDAY! I ran 5 miles last Friday straight thru outside for the first time ever, and then I ran about 3 or 4 miles on the beach on Saturday. My legs hurt so bad after that! I think I'm only going to run once before the race Saturday, but we'll see! (sorry for going on and on about this...just super nervous/excited/pumped!)

  2. Elb, I will do a post on my past with running because it takes a little explaining!

I'm happy that you are sharing about your race, go on and on as much as you like! That's what I do on my blog and you are obviously reading it. I love hearing it so keep it up!

Great job on doing all that running outside, since you said running outside is hard for you. It's cool to see improvement and very exciting isn't it?

I hope your race goes well! Let me know how you do, how you felt, your favorite part of it, etc. ....DETAILS, girl!
